LOCATION
Lessons are either at my house in Jackson, NJ or in the Colts Neck, Holmdel, Marlboro area.
AGES
I welcome students ages 3 and older.
LESSON TIMES
I start beginners with a 30 minute lesson once as week. As they advance, lesson time will be increased to 45 minutes leading to one hour.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Parents attend the lesson with their child. Parents learn the basics of the violin along with their child. Don't worry if you're not a musician! Everything is broken down into small steps so they are easier to master.
PRACTICE MAKES IT EASY
Parents and students practice together at home, using what they learned in the lesson to make it easier. They also listen to the recordings of the Suzuki repertoire, which develops the child's musical ear and prepares them for the music they will be playing.
GROUP CLASSES
Group classes are currently held once per month. They help us learn to play together as a group, as well as motivate us when we see other students playing songs we've heard. We love to get together with our friends and play our violins!
RECITALS
We have two recitals per year, once in December and the other in June. Recitals are very motivating for the students. Great things start to happen when they have the goal of playing in the recital to work toward! We are also planning to have a group concert this year as well.
